anointing

Ha’Mishchah

“The Anointing”

Mashiyach in you the hope of glory

“But ha’Mishchah (the anointing)
which you have received of him abides in you,
and you need not that any man teach you:
but as the same anointing teaches you of all things,
and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it has taught you,
you shall abide in him.”
1 John 2:27

Whatever our religion or spirituality might be, most of us can hear a voice within us telling us that mankind can do better when it comes to justice, peace, equality and common good.  There is a divine element that inspires us to give and share with one another, we each want to leave the world in a better place.  These kinds of values are Messiah Consciousness, they are based on brotherly love and self sacrifice.  For a majority of people there is a reciprocal response of wanting to give back to those who show love and acceptance towards us.  It is thisinstinctive common element that carries the greatest potential for the human race, within “Messiah Consciousness.”  We have an inherent calling within us that is greater than the sum of who we are, or how our religion or intellect defines us.

It is the anointing of Mashiyach that calls us to have compassion and seek Justice and Mercy and safety for all human life everywhere and for the animal kingdom and the earth we live one.  The last message Mashiyach gave to his disciples called all souls everywhere into the Kingdom of Heaven, to live and make our decisions according to Messiah Consciousness.

And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached
in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
And you are witnesses of these things.
Luke 24:47-48

It was the goal of Mashiyach to extend His Kingdom to “ALL NATIONS” beginning in Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) which means Yah is Peace, some say it means “abode or dwelling place of peace” and there are other interesting definitions being offered nevertheless Jerusalem and Tsiyon (Zion) play a central geographical role in Mashiyach’s Government.  Almost as if Jerusalem is a gateway to heaven.

Imagine if people, Jews, Christians and Muslims all felt they “belonged” and felt secure and loved and respected and valued and honored?  Within that image is the “Messiah Consciousness” that Y’shua demonstrated towards human life.  But, religion has turned his teaching into a wicked religious thing to oppress and control people and turn them against one another.

In the Kingdom of Elohim a person’s character and honesty and observance of Torah is what is highly valued by the Father.  But in religion the first question is… are you a Jew?  Do you daven (pray traditional prayers)?   Have you been “born again” or are you a Christian?  Are you a Muslim?  More often than not, religious people wear a religious label and can be some of the most dishonest, hateful, religious bigots on the earth but their family and friends accept their very poor characters and dishonesty because of their religion.  This is the main difference between following a religion about “HaShem” or “the LORD” or “Allah” and learning to enter into the Kingdom of Elohim and develop the “nature” of Mashiyach within us.

The reason that MASHIYACH is the preeminent Title of Y’shua is because it is derived from the primitive Hebrew root word “MASHACH” meaning; anoint, paint or smear on.  “MISHCHAH” is the common Hebrew word that translates; anointing.  These words uniquely describe the work of the Holy Spirit in our souls.  Originally the anointing of the Set Apart (Holy Spirit) was evidenced by individuals having Messiah Consciousness indwelling their hearts, in doing so there was a clear demarcation in a person’s life that rejected all of man’s religious ideas that were and are at war with Mashiyach.  In basic terms it is Mashiyach who orchestrates the writing of Torah upon the hearts, this was the New Covenant of Jeremiah 31:31-34 is prophesied to do.

Ha’Mishchah “the anointing” of the Ruach HaKodesh is translated into thousands of religious stereotypes and cliché’s, doctrines and religious beliefs abound with all manner of theory about this central element of having a spiritual and vibrant relationship with the Father.  Many Christians believe the anointing of Mashiyach is evidenced by the manifestation of “spiritual gifts” or a specific theology, theory or ideology and many speak of an “intimate relationship” with Jesus or God or “the Father”.  But in reality the deceitfulness of religion is to borrow an “anointing” from some pastor, priest or prophet and talk the talk.  There is also a huge vacuum in people’s spiritual lives when spending “time with God”.  For many “God” is a routine as in “take time to be holy” and do “religious things” that make us feel good about ourselves.

Most rabbis, pastors or priests don’t take any time to press into deep things of the Spiritual world because they have a business about “God” and they are servants of “God” doing the things that a rabbis, pastors and priests do and they have a set of intellectual formalities and religious disciplines that they have convinced themselves has everything to do with “God”.  In reality, the majority of religious leaders are completely unable to leave the safe harbor of their religion, seeking a true anointing and relationship with the Father would result in the end of their careers.  I could give you hundreds of examples from both the Jewish and Christian worlds, how religion has defined Ha’Mishchah “the anointing” and has elevated a theology about it, rather than the reality of MESSIAH CONSCIOUSNESS which is the foundation the anointing of the Ruach haKodesh (Set Apart Spirit).

Religion makes up it’s own rules about what is and what isn’t, who has and who doesn’t have an “anointing”, that is simply dead religion as opposed to “Messiah Consciousness” and having Messiah formed in us.  In many, many situations in history over the last 2,000 years both Jewish and Christian leaders have been found to be taken completely unaware by tragedies that visited their communities, oftentimes, religious leaders become angry and attack those who are hearing from YHWH and who are trying to help them.  In Jewish history gives see examples in Jerusalem at the destruction of the Temple, which Jewish history tells us that religious wars erupted between Jewish sects setting the Romans at war with Jerusalem.  Not even 60 years later at the bar Kochba revolt Rabbinic accounts describe how one of the greatest rabbis of all time Rabbi Akiba was flayed, rabbi Ishmael had the skin of his head pulled off slowly, and rabbi Hanania was burned at a stake, with wet wool held by a Torah scroll wrapped around his body to prolong his death.  These three rabbis were the pinnacle of rabbinical “logic and reason” and highly esteemed and honored to this day, but they gave very foolish counsel that was responsible for over half a million Jews to be slaughtered.

Just before the holocaust in Germany and Poland, Jewish rabbis were advising Jews to stay put, that the German government would protect them.  Jews who were fleeing or thinking about fleeing were condemned as being fear mongers, the rabbis “logic and reason” helped six million Jews be murdered.  The difference between having the anointing of Mashiyach or following a religion of men is a matter of life and death.  YHWH will not be mocked.  Religious men scorn YHWH’s Word and His Spirit and they bring destruction upon His people.

The atrocities of Christian leadership is an unbearable shame against human dignity in about 20 “crusades” from 1095 to 1434 Christians demonstrated cruelty and greed under the guise of “Holy Wars” that Sir Steven Runciman in the 1950′s concluded was “nothing more than a long act of intolerance in the name of God”.  Hatred between Catholics and Protestants is demonstrated every day in many places around the world, more cruelty and greed in the name of God and each person feels religious entitlement in the name of God, as though the spirit of God has given them “unction” when in fact their religion is nothing but high handed rebellion and wickedness against Messiah Consciousness.

In our walk (halakh) as  disciples (talmidim), Mashiyach instructed us to go ye therefore and teach all nations about who he is and how we are enter in Mashiyach.  When we meet fellow sojourners it’s plain to see that many people have a degree of Messiah consciousness, they have experimented with various religions but didn’t find religion to honestly represent what they know and feel to be the Government of Mashiyach.  We don’t have to try to teach someone about Mashiyach, we just have to listen for the Spirit of YHWH within them and support the spiritual man that is learning to overcome the carnal man.

Ha’Mishchah is often taught in conjunction with the Shemen ha’Mishchah (Anointing Oil), the Shemen (Oil) represents the Ruach HaKodesh and this symbolizes the Ruach HaKodesh connecting with our Neshama(spirit of man).  As the ha’Mishchah is such a central all encompassing and vital to enter into “The Kingdom”, any theological model attempting to satisfy the intellect regarding ha’Mishchah will produce tunnel vision on either a doctrinal formulae or religious value.  We are to define who we are, by our relationship with the Father and His Mashiyach.  Messiah in you, because you know that your “flesh” wants to do something than your “spirit”, will not permit.  Our “spirit is willing but our flesh is weak.”

Ha’Mishchah is the evidence within ourselves that we have entered into the Kingdom of Elohim, the inner spiritual man is awakened and revealed to us.  As ha’Mishchah of the Ruach HaKodesh grows in us as we respond to the call of Mashiyach by doing His Will and advancing the  Kingdom of Elohim, everything we do and say and how we live reflects our inner Spiritual Man.  Consider those men and women in the Tanakh whom YHWH chose to reveal Himself to, each one had ha’Mishchah of the Ruach HaKodesh.  Avraham, Yitzak and Ya’akov and all the Prophets of YHWH had ha’Mishchah.  The Priests and Levites were also called and anointed to serve YHWH and His people.  King David walked in ha’Mishchah from YHWH.  Each of these men of YHWH are in Mashiyach, each one knows YHWH according to His Righteous Character, through Covenant and by having His Word revealed on the inside and by how we choose to live.

The ha’Mishchah we experience today must also be in harmony to the ha’Mishchah of these who lived in ancient times, and spoke the Word of YHWH according to the Living Torah, there is only One Kingdom of Elohim, it is timeless.  The ha’Mishchah of the forefathers and prophets who YHWH chose must be understood within the anointing or ha’Mishchah of this moment.  However, the Hellenized world has separated itself from both the ha’Mishchah and the Kingdom of Elohim by inventing religious theologies that devalue the Anointing of the Ruach haKodesh, by changing what Y’shua taught and supplanting it with modern religious ideas, here are a few examples:

“For all the prophets and the Torah prophesied until John.” Matthew 11:13

But the text says,

“For all the prophets and the Torah prophesied concerning John.”

The prophets and the Torah speak the Word of YHWH which is outside of time, but modern religions invent words like dispensation and “replacement theology”, which effectively makes YHWH’s Word “old” and replaces it with “new” modernized “versions.”  Ha’Mishchah is being taught as a doctrine rather than a way of life.  In Psalms 119 King David reveals and explains his Mishchah (anointing) when he says,

“Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy Torah.”

Psalm 119:18

Yet a great number of religious people don’t know Torah to be either relevant or applicable to their own anointing, ha’Mishchah.  The Mishchah of the Ruach HaKodesh reveals the Song of Moshe as the Testimony of the Lamb, these are part of one reality within the Kingdom of Elohim.

Religion emphasizes tsedakah (acts of kindness or charity) and religious identity as a replacement for ha’Mishchah.  The flesh regards it’s own works, emotions and experiences as evidence of ha’Mishchah, good works are noble and important, regardless if credited to the flesh or to the ha’Mishchah, but they can become a self religious entity from becoming a new Creation in Mashiyach.  The door to entering into the anointing of the Ruach haKodesh is the Perfection of Mashiyach working within us, it’s the yearning to overcome the carnal character and serve Mashiyach that opens the door to greater anointing and spiritual resources.

Our prayer life also helps reveal the ha’Mishchah we are walking in, how much time do we spend praying in private, versus in public?  In the Mishkan (tabernacle) the alter of incense was placed in front of the veil before entering into the Kadosh Kadoshim (Holy of Holies), this illustrates that YHWH asks that our prayer come from our hearts, not our minds.  Religion tells us there are great benefits in saying many prayers, some traditions repeat the same prayers each day, every day, most hurry to discharge their obligation to pray, religion says that the more prayers you make, the more that YHWH will be favorable to you.  However, Scripture reveals that a “broken and a contrite heart YHWH will not despise“, Ya’akov HaTsaddiq (Y’shua’s blood brother) says that “the fervent prayers of a righteous man, avails much“.

Y’shua Mashiyach said, “And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.  But you, when you pray, enter into your inner chamber, and when you have shut the door, pray to your Father privately; and your Father which sees hidden things shall reward you openly.  But when you pray, don’t use vain repetitions, as the hypocrites: for they think that they shall be heard for their many words.  Don’t you be like unto them: for your Father knows what things you have need of, before you ask him.” Matthew 6:5-8 (translated from Aramaic)

How we value Torah instruction determines how far we will go in our ha’Mishchah, #When Y’shua heard it, he marveled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.  And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Avraham, and Yitzak, and Ya’acov, in the kingdom of heaven.  But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 8:10-12  Y’shua states “the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness”, clearly it was statements like this that angered religious Jews who were only blood related to the forefather, but they rejected the Mashiyach of their forefathers, and Torah in favor of their man made religious traditions.  Yeshua spoke this to a Ger Toshav Centurion (not Jewish) who loved YHWH and His Torah and desired to also be with his fathers Avraham, Yitzak and Ya’akov.

“Then said one unto Him, Master, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,  Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.  When once the master of the house is risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Master, Master, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I don’t know who are:  Then shall you begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in your presence, and you have taught in our streets.  But he shall say, I tell you, I don’t know who you are; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.  There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you shall see Avraham, and Yitzak, and Ya’akov, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of Elohim, and you yourselves thrust out.  And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of Elohim.  And, behold, there are last which shall be first,
and there are first which shall be last.”
Luke 13:23-30
“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of YHWH:  And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”  Malachi 4:5

The heart of the fathers and the Prophets is Mashiyach

“Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:  Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Mashiyach which was in them did signify, #when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Mashiyach, and the glory that should follow.  Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the Kingdom of Elohim unto you with the Ruach HaKodesh sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.”

1 Peter 1:10-12

The Love we will receive and experience through the Ruach haKodesh is the most intimate of all love, ha’Mishchah, the anointing, allows us to experience the nature of Elohim, as we become united with the Ruach HaKodesh as one spirit within us.  YHWH created our spirit and connects His Spirit to ours, likewise each soul who in Mashiyach is part of His Universal Kingdom.  Love and relationships become closely knit together, hearts are bound up within each other, like Israel (Jacob) and Binyamin, David and Yonathan.  Regardless of how spiritually mature or immature we are, each of us has a “Spiritual Connection” with YHWH, we have a sense of right and wrong and even a small voice inside that reveals our desire to make the world a better place, to give and share and love and establish righteousness and justice on this earth.  Imagine the anointing of Ya’akov HaTsadiq or Yochanan or Rav Shaul (James, John or Paul) who layed down all other aspirations and gave their lives for Mashiyach.  We can just read about their lives and values and how each one of them had come to personally experience a relationship with Mashiyach, or we can hand our lives over and surrender ourselves for the purpose of life itself, the greatest of causes that a person could ever serve, Who is Mashiyach.

Let’s do everything we can to avoid religious traps, so as not to have a “theoretical” or religious relationship with YHWH and His Mashiyach based on our intellect, or our ideas or by religion.  Being close to someone with strong personality or leadership is often an obstacle to growing a personal relationship with the Father.  A trueShaliachim (Messengers or Apostles) of Mashiyach are vigilant to not become the focus, but to enable others to find themselves in Mashiyach, and help recognize and nurture the anointing on others.

“Gather the people together, men, and women, and children,
and the sojourner that is within your gates,
that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear YHWH Elohim,
and observe to do all the words of this Torah:”
Deuteronomy 31:12

None are excluded, men, women, children, and the sojourner,

include the visitors who are not part of the family, are all invited:

HEAR:  Each day the Word of YHWH must be read aloud and ingested into our souls.  We hear the word so that we can live it, as we live it we apply the Word and make decisions to take action based on the Word of YHWH.  Hearing the Word not only means hearing the sound, it means our Hearts hear and apply.  We arenephesh chaya (living beings), the Targums say this is the Spirit of Speech, YHWH has given us a portion of Himself.  He Spoke the Universe into existence by His Word, and we have His Word in us as we study Torah and are obedient, as we HEAR Torah our neshama (spirit) hears and we tell our mind, will and emotions and our physical body how to conform to Mashiyach.

A good steward hears His Master and wants to know and understand the intent of His Master, and is obedient to righteous instructions, because he trusts his Master is higher and knows more than himself.  The Master is well acquainted with all Truth and Knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding and sees the big picture that we don’t.  A good steward hears the Word, immediately takes it to heart and acts upon what he hears, he knows he will understand more as he abides with his Master.  The Hellenized carnal world wants to know everything in advance before taking action, the flesh wants instant gratification and believes itself to have knowledge and the ability to judge each matter according to the intellect.

LEARN:  Each day by applying the Word of YHWH, we learn.  Learning does not mean we understand, but that we DO the Truth to learn.  The Mashiyach said,

“If any man will do his will, he shall know of the teaching,
whether it be of Elohim, or whether I speak of myself.”
John 7:17

By doing we learn, the pagans teach that one learns through the mind, but the carnal flesh is forever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.  As we DO we are able to teach others, the very act of DOING causes transformation within us.  There is a ripple effect in our souls when we LEARN and DO, like a rock thrown into the water, the ripples surround our action by 360 degrees, in the spiritual world they go in all dimensions, the synergy of obedience helps us maintain movement towards perfection in Mashiyach.  Learning is not only about studying books and Hebrew and Aramaic, but about becoming a new creation in Mashiyach and tuning our spirit to the Ruach haKodesh, and by doing so we receive discernment for each new experience.

FEAR YHWH ELOHIM:  Fear means Fear.  We are not to accept counterfeit ideas about the Word of YHWH, fear means fear.  Many people are uncomfortable with the FEAR OF YHWH and teach that the Scripture doesn’t really mean fear, they teach that it means respect, awe and love. These say that YHWH does not want us to FEAR HIM, they teach “G-d is Love” and where there is LOVE there is no fear.  A proof text for this false theology is 1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love.”  However this verse is referring to the fear of man, not the fear of YHWH, there is no torment in the Fear of YHWH.

The Fear of YHWH allows a soul to Trust in YHWH and His Word, regardless of the trials we may face in this world, we FEAR YHWH and not men, this allows us to have a bold witness regarding Mashiyach.  False theology removes the Fear of YHWH and replaces His truth with the fear of man.  Those who reject the Fear of YHWH are living carnal religious lives, according to their own idols or they are ignorant of the Spiritual warfare against this “Spirit of YHWH“.  The haMishchah of the Ruach HaKodesh will bring the Fear of YHWH into remembrance when haSatan (the Adversary) is trying to make war against the Children of Israel.  The FEAR of YHWH, is one of the Seven Spirits of YHWH according to Isaiah 11:3, hasatan is easily defeated when one welcomes the Fear of YHWH into their neshama.

“The fear of YHWH is the beginning of wisdom:

a good understanding have all they that do his commandments:

his praise endures for ever.”

Psalm 111:10

Those lacking in the FEAR of YHWH, are not lacking in the fear of man.  Why would someone not choose to FEAR the Creator YHWH Elohim?  YHWH is the Author of Life, full of Mercy, Justice, Truth, Forgiveness, Longsuffering and Love.  We should be asking the Ruach HaKodesh to put more of the FEAR of YHWH in us each and every day.  The Hebrew word for Fear is Yare which means fear, afraid, terrible, terrible thing, dread, dreadful, to fear, revere, be afraid.  MORE of the FEAR of YHWH means more POWER and GRACE to walk in Him and not turn to the right or to the left.  Even if a person was unsure how to understand the Fear of YHWH, if they had a FEAR about breaking YHWH’s Commandments they would be on the right path.  If they had a FEAR of being separated from YHWH and His Mashiyach, the would not go wrong, but if they had no fear of this, they would be tossed about with every wind and distraction that they come up against.

OBSERVE TO DO ALL THE WORDS OF THIS TORAH

YHWH asks that we daily practise these FOUR THINGS

It is very straightforward, but if we choose to go our own way and NOT listen to His Word then He “will even send a curse upon you, and curse your blessings: …because you do not lay it to heart.” and “this people who know not the Torah are cursed” and “Cursed be the man that obeys not the words of this covenant” and “He that turns away his ear from hearing the Torah, even his prayer shall be abomination.”  There are hundreds of Scriptures that speak of the need for us to Observe Torah.  False religions have made up gods according to their own imaginations.  YHWH said through the Prophet Jeremiah, “How do you say, We are wise, and the Torah of YHWH is with us?  Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes writes falsehoods.  The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the Word of YHWH; and what wisdom is in them?”  False religions have written their own Bibles, they’ve fashioned a god from their carnal intellects and “Everyone that is proud in heart is an abomination to YHWH: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.”  In other words even if they join together and get multitudes to agree with their false theology, they’re on their own.

We all have unique circumstances and challenges, at times we may feel as though we have limitations put upon us, in our relationship with YHWH and His Mashiyach.  A famous lie of the enemy, is that we will be satisfied with things that are not pleasing to YHWH, but the way to freedom is perfection in Mashiyach, the ha’Mishchah brings perfection into our souls.  Ha’Mishchah will break the lies of the enemy by the authority of the Ruach HaKodesh and the Word of YHWH.

“The words of YHWH are pure words:
as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.”

“The fear of YHWH is clean, enduring for ever:
the judgments of YHWH are true and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold, yes,
than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Moreover by them is your servant warned:
and in keeping of them there is great reward.”
Elohim is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed,
and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled,
though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.
There is a river, the streams thereof shall make glad the City of Elohim,
the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
Elohim is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved:
Elohim shall help her, early in the morning.
The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: He uttered His voice, the earth melted.
YHWH of Hosts is with us; the Elohim of Jacob is our refuge.
Come, behold the works of YHWH, what desolations he has made in the earth.
He makes wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaks the bow,
and cuts the spear in sunder; he burns the chariot in the fire.
Be still, and know that I am Elohim: I will be exalted among the heathen,
I will be exalted in the earth.
YHWH of Hosts is with us;
the Elohim of Jacob is our refuge.
Psalm 46

YHWH be with you,

Shalom U’Vrachot,

Baruch Ben Daniel
