But know this: That in the latter days hard times will come: and men will be lovers of

themselves and lovers of money, boasters, proud, revilers, unyielding towards their own people,

deniers of grace, wicked, unloving, addicted to irreconcilable malicious gossips, ferocious,

haters of the good, treacherous, rash, inflated, attached to pleasure more than to the love of

Elohim, having a form of respect for Elohim but wide from the power of Elohim.

Them who are such, repel from you.

Netzari Judaism is the original Faith as taught by Y’shua, Paul (Shaul) and the Apostles (Shlichim) it is not a “religious enterprise” and thankfully never will be. Yet many men posture themselves as Netzarim leaders who are eager to “Crapitalize” upon the household of faith (crap-it-al-ize: to say or sell anything one can to obtain money). It is very easy to call oneself Netzari or consider oneself on the “cutting edge” of truth but, identity in itself is a falsehood without the daily discipline and sanctification of the Name of YHWH according to His Word, which is Torah.

The Netzari Faith is all about serving Y’shua and living a disciplined life in Mashiyach not a theology, but a way of life.

In reality most of the Netzarim leaders in North America come from Christian backgrounds where systematic theology is what brings salvation. Please consider this extremely important point. Most have come from denominational churches into the “Messianic” or Hebraic Roots Movement and are still today fencing people off based on systematic theology. Imagine a Faith that allows for variance in theology but demands a righteous lifestyle of it’s adherents. Lifestyle and theology are not so linked to each other as most people imagine. I meet people all the time who are not Netzari but who have more righteous lifestyles that some of the Netzari leadership that I know of. For example there are ex-Christian people who are hard working, professional or business owners who are very cautious about how they treat their fellow human beings when it comes to financial matters, they keep Shabbat, the Moedim and trust in the Name of YHWH and His Mashiyach, however, there are other “believers” who use the Name of YHWH, keep Shabbat and the Moedim and refuse to manage their own finances, they beg for support, some are rabbid Jew haters. The difference is some “believers” see their salvation according to theology, others see salvation as trusting in YHWH and being obedient to Torah in Mashiyach, there is a very big difference between the two.

Faith is not about an outward “identity” not even the identity of the Kedoshim (set apart people), if so, there would be much more terminology like Netzari or Israelite within Netzarim Writings. The walk (action) is much more important than the talk. There has always been a trend in religious circles to talk and preach the purest possible theology. Many leaders wear Netzari or Israelite labels, but some refuse to walk in righteousness themselves. It is difficult for many to differentiate between the Netzari Faith and the Hebrewification of the Christian Faith if one hasn’t experienced a genuine community. The problem is that many believers go from one theological based community to another rather than simply live a righteous life of practise and observance. The theological based believer only sees Torah for what brings salvation as a theology so they feel they must keep Shabbat, Moedim and restore the Name of YHWH. However, one of the most profound underlying principles in Torah is how to love YHWH and our neighbour, therefore we are judged each day by or stewardship of time and money. Theology is very limited in how it can motivate us to live a righteous life, experiencing Torah as a wholesome lifestyle has limitless potential for the human soul.

Yeshua raised up talmidim (not membership in a social gospel). Y’shua’s talmidim (disciples) were trained to direct souls of others to the Father YHWH, they never brought people to themselves to rely on their own “ministries and hook new “partners in ministry”. Some Netzarim leaders posture themselves to be on the “cutting edge” of the Netzarim Faith, but some can’t even keep their own word. One self appointed religious leader in Texas continues to break his word and steal from others in the Body but still expects honour and financial support from YHWH’s people for his “ministry”.

If we look at the qualifications of leadership according to Torah and in the Netzarim Ketuvim, particularly Paul’s letters, we see what the qualifications and goals of the leadership should be. Leaders are to emulate the life of Y’shua, not establish their own “branding” as if it were the cutting edge of truth. The world needs righteous teachers, it doesn’t need gurus who are looking for support for their own supreme ideas. Yeshua was the idea man, Yeshua is the goal not another “ministry of man” with big visions and high levels of self importance. Americans have been inundated with heroism, movies market heroes as saviors and deliverers, Americans see themselves as democratic saviors of the world. Clearly many American Netzari or Israelite leaders have this same demon and ego that drives them to flaunt their self importance upon others. The demon of heroism camouflages pride, arrogance, one-man-shows and leaning on one’s own understanding to get things done.

Although it might be popular for American Believers to follow the guy with the biggest vision and ministry, this is not how Yeshua taught us to establish discipleship. Yeshua showed us about prayer, action led by Faith, and to be servants of all. Yeshua never looked to be served, but to serve. It is a terrible shame for Capitalists to position themselves as Netzari Jewish or Israelite leaders and travel the world looking for souls to serve them. Shame on them, but don’t be distracted by their theological purity, as if this is the final frontier before Mashiyach returns. The truth is within us, in quietness and trust is our strength, we need not anyone teach us if the Ruach HaKodesh dwells within us. Pride is the enemy, it blinds us from seeing the beauty in simplicity, community and love towards one another.

Certainly we are all social creatures and we want good fellowship, friendship and healthy relationships. There are times when we in the household of Faith meet for conferences and have to put up with leaders who want to be big and important, sometimes we pay the price because good fellowship is not always easy to come by. Some of us have very little fellowship because of choosing to return to the Ancient Path, and being ostracized by those who reject Torah and Mashiyach. But when the opportunity avails itself to go to a conference or listen in on a traveling road show, we tend to put up with the Crapitalism. But let’s not dishonor the standard Yeshua set. Let us not accept the style of leadership and teachers who wear a cloak of “scholarship” to tickle ears, but have no community or accountability towards others. The fact of the matter is that even in the world, public leaders are more exposed to meaningful criticism than in religious worlds, religious people tend to cover up the sins of their leaders, so as not to give others an excuse for rejecting the truth (beloved theology and religious identity) and transgressing in their own flesh.

Speakers, leaders and teachers are to be qualified according to Torah, not according to popularity and ability to schmooze with others. If a leader is qualified he should be honored and recommended, but if they are not qualified by Torah standards it is important to note this and not recommend them either, and if necessary bring charges against those who are living contrary to Torah and the Life of Mashiyach.

We cannot accept men as leaders who can’t keep their word, who are not accountable to others, who are living in adultery, who slander others and refuse to be held accountable. We must prefer leaders who live righteous lives, keep their oaths and live in humility, not covetous of materialism. Some Netzari leaders have been divorced and remarried several times, according to basic Torah principles they do not qualify to be leaders. One so called Netzari “leader” divorced his wife because she wasn’t Jewish, his own Jewish identity was on the increase so he wanted a more Jewish wife, this is shameful and of late I heard this same fellow is teaching that it’s ok to have mistress. There are other wicked men who are in the Hebrew Roots movement who are taking more than one wife for themselves, these men are living off the tithes and offerings of YHWH’s people and through selling their religious teachings, but they are nothing but cult leaders who are trying to capitalize on a current trend.

As a people and a community we cannot endorse men who do these shameful things to raise up their own names. YHWH warns us that He sends false prophets (leaders) into the midst of His people to test us, and see if we’ll buy into falsehood or if we will seek YHWH and focus on the purity and Truth of His Word. True leaders raise up disciples unto Yeshua, not followers to themselves. Anyone who lives in Truth is qualified to be a leader, those who say they do not have qualified men in their congregation are likely not qualified themselves, true disciples of Y’shua set out to make disciples rather than “yes men” who are micro-managed and manipulated by the hierarchy.

We should not be surprised when we see Netzari or Israelite followers of Yeshua being infiltrated and devoured by one-man-show ministries, this is how the enemy is trying to make Netzarim believers conform to false hierarchies. But the very foundation of Truth in leadership is in servitude, preferring others above oneself and knowing one is privileged to be called to serve YHWH and His Mashiyach. Yeshua upheld Judgment (Justice), Faith and Mercy of Torah as the Standard. Even diligent observance of each of the Ten Commandments brings about service of Mashiyach towards others, therefore it is incumbent upon all Believers to establish righteous leadership within themselves, rather than look to others as heroes of their Faith.

“Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the Malchut Elohim is within you.”
